What inspired me to apply to the AYF is that there will be youth from all over Asia with their unique language, culture and more. Thinking of it makes my heart beat fast, imagine how much I could learn, the experiences I could get. Its priceless!

The FOUNDER

I’m a Professor in the Department of Regional Culture of the Faculty of Regional Sciences at Tottori University (Japan). Some of the courses I teach include: Globalization, International Exchange, Cross-cultural Understanding and Communication English.

 I’m the chair of the "Global Issues in Language Education" Special Interest Group (GILE SIG) of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT). I also publish a quarterly “Global Issues in Language Education Newsletter” which you’re welcome to subscribe to. Our GILE SIG deals with content-based language teaching aimed at promoting global awareness, international understanding, and action to solve world problems.

I’m a founder of the Asian Youth Forum (AYF). This is a unique international exchange program which aims to empower young people in Asia by providing them with opportunities to create multinational networks and discuss significant issues pertaining to Asia and the world.

 I’m also the Vice President of TIME (Tottori International Multicultural Exchange), a local volunteer citizen’s group that works to promote global awareness and international understanding in Tottori, Japan.
